Collins Center for the Arts
Lucas Richman, conductor
Moni Jasmine Guo, composer
Join us for the orchestral showcase of the season! Bartók’s most popular orchestral work, the Concerto for Orchestra, shines a light on our own amazingly talented orchestral musicians. The Festive Overture of Shostakovich is a virtuosic showcase, and the Gayane: Three Pieces by Khachaturian will showcase the BSO with members of the BSYO side-by-side together in one of the most exciting and popular works written for orchestra. In a joint consortium with other orchestras and led by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program, Moni (Jasmine) Guo will be in residence in Bangor for the weekend, and her new work for orchestra will be receiving its Maine premiere with this performance.
This concert is currently part of a Subscription Package. Single tickets go on sale August 6, 2026.
