Glinka’s sparkling Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture kicks things off before up and coming cellist Nicholas Canellakis takes the stage for Schumann’s beloved Cello Concerto in A minor. Shostakovich’s spirited Symphony No. 9 concludes the program with a burst of brightness.
